Virtual Therapy Across Ontario
Hi there – if you’re navigating life with ADHD, you’re in the right place. I’m Jill, an occupational therapist (with over 12 years of experience) and advanced training in ADHD. I am also a practicing psychotherapist and an ADHD executive functioning coach. Over the years, I’ve found that weaving these three approaches together creates the most meaningful support for people with ADHD.
I work with teens and adults who often describe feeling stuck in patterns of procrastination, overwhelm, or self-doubt. Sometimes that looks like running out of time, getting lost in hyperfocus, or never quite finishing the tasks you start. Other times it shows up as emotional ups and downs—stress, big reactions, or the feeling of always being behind no matter how hard you try. My role is to help you step out of those cycles and find new ways of living that feel more manageable and aligned with your goals.
Here’s how I do that: as an Occupational Therapist (OT), I help you look at daily routines and tasks, identify what’s getting in the way, and build practical systems that actually fit your life. In addition to virtual options, sessions can also take place in your home – this can be especially helpful for ADHD, because we’re working together right in the environment where your challenges and routines actually happen (see below for more information!)
As a Psychotherapist, I help you navigate the emotional impact of ADHD—things like anxiety, negative self-talk, and the limiting beliefs that keep you stuck. Together, we also address the strain that ADHD symptoms can place on your relationships and self-confidence.
And as an Executive Functioning Coach, I guide you in developing the brain-based skills that are challenging for people with ADHD, such as planning, prioritizing, getting started, and following through.
The combination of these three roles means we’re not just focusing on one piece of the puzzle. Together, we address the practical, the emotional, and the behavioral sides of ADHD, so that change isn’t just temporary—it becomes something you can sustain. My goal is to help you feel calmer, more confident, and more in control of your life.
I offer a free introductory call where you can ask me anything about OT, psychotherapy, coaching, or ADHD – and see if we are a good fit to work together!
What to Expect in Therapy
In our first session, we talk about the challenges you’re facing, ADHD symptoms, and explore your personal goals, sometimes using checklists or questionnaires. That conversation helps us understand not only where you’re struggling, but also what you’d like life to look like instead.
From there, we move into treatment sessions, which are tailored to your needs. Together, we might:
- Learn about how the ADHD brain works and why starting and finishing tasks can be difficult,
- Try out practical strategies and routines, then “test” them in your daily life to see what works best for you,
- Explore thought patterns, limiting beliefs, and emotional regulation skills,
- Reflect on the impact ADHD has had on your relationships, productivity (e.g. at work, school, home), and sense of self.
Throughout the process, compassion and self-acceptance are central. Many people come to therapy feeling like they’ve been trying their hardest and still falling short. My goal is to help you not only find strategies that work, but also to feel supported, understood, and more confident in yourself.
Therapy in your Home Environment
One unique aspect of occupational therapy is that sessions are not limited to a screen or an office — they can also happen in your own home. This is especially helpful for ADHD, because we’re working together in the environment where your challenges and routines actually happen.
For example, we might look at your home office setup and figure out how to reduce distractions, organize your kitchen so that meals feel easier and less overwhelming, explore the items you use for your self-care routines, or even tackle a closet together to make it more functional. Working in your own environment means we can create systems and strategies that are not only practical, but also tailored to your real life — so changes are easier to put into action and sustain long-term.
In-home sessions also allow us to look at your physical space, your habits, and your supports all at once, which often leads to faster insights and more meaningful progress.
I would love to hear from you! Feel free to book a free 15-minute virtual consultation to ask any questions you have about OT, Psychotherapy, Coaching, or ADHD – or how we might be a good fit.
