Jae Steele is a graduate student currently undertaking practicum training at Dig a Little Deeper in Ontario. She brings nine years of previous experience in healthcare, and offers virtual or in-person (Bolton) services.

Jae appreciates counselling as a collaborative process rich with possibilities. She honours clients’ lived experiences and their willingness to delve into self-exploration during this time. Jae’s aim is to be compassionately attuned to the holistic needs of each individual and foster a safe and respectful space. At a foundational level, Jae takes a humble, decolonized/intersectional, trauma-informed and otherwise antioppressive stance, incorporating humour and mindfulness and exploring options for community care. She is supportive of unconventional family systems, diverse genders, ethical nonmonogamy, harm reduction and a variety of recovery pathways.

Jae is passionate about continually learning more to serve her clients better. Her experience of providing care to expectant and new parents for over a decade brings exceptional strength to her counselling approach which is grounded in creating strong connections.

Jae is completing her Master of Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. She has earned an undergraduate degree in Midwifery from Toronto Metropolitan University and a post-graduate certificate in Infant and Early Child Mental Health from Seneca College.
